Two inept brothers from Texas, come to Los Angels to find their estranged father and inevitably become hitmen. Blah Blah Blah....

12 going 30, wise beyond her years.  Al's daughter who is the spitting image of him. Smart mouth, independent and eager to follow in her father’s footsteps. She has been relocated to Los Angeles with her mother.

Shadow members within the Gulf Coast Mob seek to use the brothers as pawns in a Coup d’etat, with the intention to consolidate both organizations into one unified empire. The two estranged brothers, kidnapped, threatened, and beaten are left with no options but to head to Southern California and find their father or finish his task.

AL – Recently released from jail for laundering money through his small bar in Texas. The middle of nine children, Al grew up never being noticed or considered, which leads him to constantly assert himself and his archaic masculine ideologies. The older of Jennings's sons, he is divorced with a 12-year-old daughter. He is constantly being emasculated by the women in his life. He is convinced that his father is the reason for his family issues. AL reads incessantly and fancies himself an intellectual but he really has no idea what he is talking about.

JIM is the bygone father of the Jennings family. Has always had a cavalier attitude. Undereducated, and needing money to support his growing family, he went to work for Nelson Gold as muscle, that ultimately lead to him becoming a contract killer. He doesn’t take out the heir to the Goldman family because he believes it will lead to a war that will ultimately put his family in danger. He goes to the FBI instead to turn states evidence, which he believes is the only way to protect his family. When his sons kill both heirs it creates chaos, leaving JIM helpless, whilst he tries to contain both mobs and the FBI.

ALEXANDER JAMES "JIM" JENNINGS

"AL" and "LIL AL" are brothers who grew up in a seemingly normal middle-class conservative household. Unbeknownst to them, their father, JIM JENNINGS is a legendary hitman for the GULF COAST MOB.

Jim has recently been tasked with the murder of the heir to the SOUTH BAY MOB in an act of familial Parricide, he, however, does not follow through with the job because he believes it will lead to a war that will ultimately get himself and all of his family killed. Instead, he turns state's witness for the FBI with the plan to keep his children safe.

ALOYSIUS “LIL AL” JENNINGS

Waiting to Kill will take place in the back alleys of West LA’s pseudo exceptionalism. From the drug front of a Green Juicery, the scantily clad, sex cult yoga studio, all the way to the Pyramid scheme of Café Gratitude.

We will follow the brothers as they leave no crystal unturned in their quest to adjust to Trustafarian logic, pacifist assholes, and the Murders that will pay for it all.

You can’t put a price tag on health…or reason...

     TEASER

A shadowy figure stands alone, in front of the Federal Building off of Wilshire, smoking. This is JIM. We do not see his face as he begins to walk forward. Multiple FBI agents are shocked to see him, their mouth’s agape. He enters and the door shuts behind him.

We open on the slow methodic shuffling of chips and cards, pulling out to reveal ALOYSIUS “LIL AL” JENNINGS, plugged into headphones and focused. He slowly lifts his cards to reveal pocket queens. With a smug look he pushes all of his chips on the table, and patiently waits for the river card…Lil Al’s manic ex girlfriend paces in the background. As the last card falls the smug look on his face turns blank. He has lost. Without hesitation he stands collects his things and walks away leaving his ex behind. He exits the backroom poker game, stopped by a group of large Hispanic gangsters. The money he has lost was theirs, and an argument ensues. Out of nowhere, a van pulls up and bags Lil Al, throwing him in and driving off, leaving Lil Al’s girlfriend and the Hispanic gangsters stunned, in the dust.

We cut to ALBERT “AL” JENNINGS methodically dusting, putting away glasses, and finally turning on the bar sign of “Al’s”, a dive bar on the coast of Galveston, TX that he used to own but now lives in. He serves drinks to the locals and casually makes conversation with a beautiful latin woman at the bar. She is strangely flirtatious. Al opens up to her about his past, being painfully honest. She asks him if he wants` to take her home. He politely denies her “for he hasn't been with a woman in a long time and doesn’t know if he can perform.” As he closing up the bar, taking out the trash we find the woman is still waiting. Al explains how he is flattered but can’t take her home because he in fact sleeps on a cot, in the back. Just as he thinks they are making a connection she knees him in the balls and puts chloroform on his mouth.

Cut to: AL and LIL AL are being aggressively water-boarded by several mob henchmen. The brothers bicker back and forth as the henchmen attempt to extort information about the whereabouts of their father. LIL AL launches into elaborate story telling about Jim, claiming that he is an astronaut, in a space station. Al shaking his head becomes frustrated with Lil Al’s lies to a point where he no longer can listen and attacks LIL AL, wrestling him to the ground. Enter RICHARD “CHICKY” LYTHGOE, counsel to the Boss and Godfather to the two brothers. Chicky pulls them apart. He explains that their father JIM is not who they think he is and in fact is a legendary hitman. “Your father, had been paid to kill someone very important in Los Angeles but has since disappeared with the money and left the job unfinished.”The brothers react in separate ways. Al not really caring about Jim’s misdeeds and Lil Al ecstatic that their father is someone special. Chicky further tells the boys that if they do not finish their father’s job, the Gulf Coast Mob will retaliate and kill their entire family. Chicky will be leaving in the morning for LA and tells them they have until the 12th to join him. After that, he can no longer protect the family.

The brothers, sit at Porch Cafe and discuss their options over breakfast. Their relationship is contentious. They were close when they were younger but had a falling out as teens when Jim left. Al speculates that they are being used as bait but Lil Al insists that Chicky wouldn’t do that to them. Al doesn’t trust Chicky because how manipulative he has been over the years. Al’s ex wife and kid live in Los Angeles, a fact Lil Al uses as leverage to try and convince Al to come with him. Al agrees to go but only to help find Jim and hold him accountable once and for all.

ACT II - THE WAITING

We follow the brothers as they trade the vast spaces of the southwestern desert for the condense traffic of West Los Angeles, finally arriving at a gorgeous craftsman in the neighborhood of Venice Beach. Chicky explains to them this is their father’s home that he has had for over 25 years, was the last place  he had contact with Jim before he disappeared. Al and Lil Al, each become enraged when they discover that their father had another family. Chicky reign the brothers attention, “I understand this is a lot for you to have to process, emotionally, so take the night. I will come back tomorrow and we will begin.” The brothers have a hilarious sleepover, reconnecting over trashing their father’s house looking for any information about his whereabouts.
